Work Location: Home Office where we have legal entity in Europe or Brazil
or SUSE office in Prague (Czech Republic) or Sofia (Bulgaria) for on-site hybrid or remote as well.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Virtualization Software Engineer to develop, maintain and support our SUSE KVM Virtualization stack (KVM hypervisor, Linux kernel, QEMU, libvirt libguestfs), delivering to SUSE Linux Enterprise and SUSE Rancher products.

Your Responsibilities

  • Improve the virtualization technology upstream, collaborate in the upstream communities
  • Develop and integrate features downstream
  • Debug our KVM stack in response to bug reports
  • Draft and execute simple test plans for features and performance

About You
Are you ready for the world-switch?

  • Proven track record of working in upstream projects
  • Experience one or more CPU architectures
  • Existing experience with KVM hypervisor, Linux kernel, QEMU, libvirt, libguestfs is a big plus
  • Full proficiency with Linux, common Git workflows, C and shell scripting
  • Additional programming languages are always good to have (Python, Go, Rust, ASM)
  • Experience in reproducing, analyzing and resolving software bugs
  • Able to collaborate within a very distributed international team across timezones
  • Able to pursue high level goals independently, self-driven and motivated, flexible responding to change
  • Fluent in English
